Labial adhesions describe a condition when the two labia minora are abnormally stuck to each other, leading to a closed or partially closed appearance of the female genital introitus.
Treating Labial Adhesions
Treatment options for labial adhesions include observation, topical agents (such as an estrogen or a steroid cream), and procedural lysis either in the office or in the operating room.
Decision to treat is largely guided by patient symptoms. If not bothersome and observation is chosen, the natural history is self resolution as the patient grows.
